I am a 4th generation Tulsan with a passion for learning. I grew up in the Boman Acres neighborhood of Tulsa and attended MacArthur Elementary School. While in Mrs. Bates' first grade class at MacArthur, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher so that I can help others and share my love of learning. I attended middle school and high school at Edison Preparatory School where I discovered my love for Social Studies. I graduated from Edison at age 16 and began attending Tulsa Community College through the Tulsa Achieves schlolarship program. From TCC I transfered to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater to study Secondary Education and History. My goal has always been to be a teacher with Tulsa Public Schools so that I can contribute to the community I was raised in. I was hired at Nathan Hale High School in 2014 where I finally achieved my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. I am honored to work, not only in the city I love, but the neighborhood where I grew up.
When I'm not teaching I am: Going to concerts at Cain's Ballroom or the Brady Theater Attending as many music festivals as possible Exploring all the wonderful things Tulsa has to offer Binge watching political dramas on Netflix Buying dresses that a teacher cannot afford Spending time with my friends and family Wishing I had a dog
